Do you remember being read to as a kid? Books have the incredible ability to open a whole new world to children. Unfortunately, many of my students have never been read to at home. Through read-alouds, students are able to focus on enjoying the text and experience the joy of reading.

My students are incredible and push me to be a better teacher every day. They are inquisitive, excited, creative, and challenging! They are the class of 2024. The school we attend is extremely diverse in SES, race, ethnicity, and home-life situations. Our teachers are dedicated, hard-working, and passionate people who give everything to make each student's day better than the one before. My goal each day is to do just this: let kids know that they are special and loved.

Students will engage with these classic books on CD at their Listening Center during Literacy Station time every day. They will hear stories they've never heard before and develop their own taste for genre and authors. Not only will they get to enjoy listening to these stories, but they will further their comprehension skills through activities that accompany each book.

Your donation will go towards growing a love and appreciation of literature in 23 five year olds who may or may not have had the opportunity. A life-long love of reading is priceless and starts now. Thank you for your consideration in donating to this invaluable project.
